Professional Path:

​

In 1990 I entered the medical faculty of the Nizhny Novgorod Medical Institute, in Russia. From the first course for 2 years, I  worked as an auxiliary medical staff in the Emergency Department of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Hospital.

​

 

After the 2nd and 3rd year, during the summer holidays, I worked as a medical staff under contract in Eastern Siberia, providing primary medical care to seasonal foreign workers and organising of sanitary and preventive measures in the work area.

​

 

After the 4th year, I entered the military medical faculty of the Samara State Medical University, graduating in 1996. I was a sergeant of the Faculty.

​

I began my medical practice as a military doctor, GP, Head of the Medical Service of an Air Defence brigade in the Far East of Russia, where I also served as Head of the Medical Service of an autonomous garrison consisting of 1 brigade and 2 battalions for 3 years.

​

 

In 1999, I completed a  military internship in Internal Medicine and Military Internal Medicine in the Far Eastern Military District Internship.

 

 

In the same year, for excellent service results, I was appointed a Senior Officer of the Organizational and Planning Department of the Medical Service of the Headquarters of Far Eastern Military District, where I was involved in the creation of organizational procedures and inspections of medical services and institutions of the Far East.

A year later, on my request, I moved to the field of clinical medicine and was appointed in one of the busiest Internal Medicine departments of the Far Eastern District, where I served as Head of the Department, with personal responsibility up to 52 beds, for 2 years.

 

Also, in parallel, I acted as the Head of the Infectious Diseases Department and the Head of the Outpatient Department, and the Principle Nutritionist of the hospital.

Throughout this period, I was the Leading Internist of the hospital and of the catchment area of the hospital, the coordinator of the regional program of anti-tuberculosis protection and a trainer for military GPs and Internists of the catchment area of the hospital.

​

 

 

According to the results of the federal inspection in 2002, I was promoted to continue my studies at the Faculty of the Management Staff of the Russian Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, where I moved to Psychiatry.

​

Upon graduation in 2005, I was licensed in all three areas of Psychiatry: Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, in Russia.

​

 

I practiced in Moscow, where I worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Central Hospital of the Air Force, mainly in Liaison Psychiatry, Military Psychiatry, and expertise. Lieutenant Colonel of the Medical Service.
 

After leaving the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, I worked as an Addiction Psychiatrist in the Addiction Psychiatry Hospital #17, being responsible for 25 beds for acute patients with addictions and dual (psychiatric and addiction) pathologies.

In parallel, I worked in global clinical research companies such as Quintiles, Hisperion, Averion, on multinational pharmaceutical projects in the fields of Psychiatry, Oncology and Cardiology. Thanks to the excellent results, my group received various awards and bonuses.

​

 

During 2010 I worked as a Senior Clinician in TeleMentalHealth, at multinational company Medavante, conducting an independent blind standardised assessment of psychotic patients (including suicidal and abusive behaviour).

​

 

Since 2011, I have passed training  in various major hospitals in Portugal, mainly in Lisbon, and also completed a standard 5-years specialisation course in Psychiatry.

​

 

I completed many online and in present internationally certified courses in Psychiatry, Psychopharmacology, other medical fields, accredited in the USA, Germany and the UK.

 

Excellent results of work in the specialty in Portugal, confirmed by objective evaluation methods.

​

 

 

During the last three years I have worked mainly in General Psychiatry and Old Age Psychiatry (age 65+) at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário da Cova da Beira and, in parallel, during the last two years in Prison Psychiatry, under contract with the Ministry of Justice of Portugal as a psychiatrist.

 

Since April 2023 I have been working as a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist in Ireland. At this moment, in Sligo University Hospital (emergency, inpatient, outpatient clinic)
